Venezuela Suggests improve relations with United States

The Venezuelan government plans to improve diplomatic relations with the United States (U.S.). They want to reopen diplomatic representation in the United States. 


"We continue to open the door for the U.S.," said Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Elias Jaua, as quoted by AFP

"The first thing to do is to send ambassadors to each other," said Jaua.

The two countries did not have an ambassador since 2010. When the late President Hugo Chavez refuse candidate who sent the U.S. ambassador. In return, the U.S. government expel the U.S. ambassador to Venezuela.

Chavez is known as an anti-US figures. Policy it has now resumed his successor President Nicolas Maduro.

Shortly after Chavez's death, Maduro expelled two U.S. military attaches. He accused both the U.S. diplomats interfere in the internal affairs of Venezuela. The U.S. government again responded with Venezuela expelled two diplomats from the country.
