Bashar: We Able Facing Israel

In his first response to respond to Israeli attacks in Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad stressed that Syria could face Israel. Assad's comments also supported by Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi who was visiting Damascus.

Israeli air raid into Syria that occurred on Friday and Sunday last week, making Iran and Syria is quite confused. When they counterattacked to Israel, the risk of war on a large scale will be higher. However, the Syrian government's silence is precisely reaping criticism from a number of parties, and the opposition.

Right on Tuesday, Assad accused Israel of supporting "terrorists" (the opposition) are operating in Syria. Assad also boasted saying, "Syria dare take big risks in the face of Israel," he told the Associated Press on Wednesday (05/08/2013).

During his visit to Syria, Salehi also pretty hard to comment on the incident. In addition to voice support to Syria to confront Israel, Salehi said, he was pretty sure Syria can emerge as the winner in the political crisis.

"It is time to counter the Israeli aggression against the citizens of the region (Syria)," Salehi said.

As is known, there was never any open military confrontation between Syria and Israel over the past four decades, although Israel had bombed a Syrian nuclear reactor in 2007. Western media argue, Israel attacks Syria reluctant to respond because they are depleting stocks of weapons. They are still focused on beating the opposition forces.

But Syria be judged can use when they are forced Hezbollah clashed with Israel. One Iranian official said the armed groups in Lebanon was able to lead the charge to confront the Jewish State, they also had been dealing with Israel in 2006.
