Barisan Nasional Fear Malaysia opposition


The Malaysian opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has so far not recognize the results of the 2013 election was won by Malaysia's Barisan Nasional. There is an assumption that the Barisan Nasional fear the popularity of Pakatan Rakyat ever increasing. 



Fear of returning Barisan Nasional to bring Prime Minister Najib Razak of Malaysia, it is evident from the arrest of opposition politicians and activists Malaysia.

Sentencing of former Umno minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim said the arrests showed Barisan Nasional fear over the increasing strength of the opposition. According to a former high-ranking National Front coalition, the arrest is the only way for PM Najib to strengthen the coalition.

The arrest of these opposition figures following charges bestowed on a Malaysian student activists on charges of sedition. Hundreds newspaper owned by the current opposition parties seized by the police and immediately triggered the recent political tensions.

"They realized that PR won more than 50 percent of the popular vote and they won through fraudulent means and Najib arrests occurred when he promised to repeal the Act incitement," said Zaid Ibrahim, as quoted byThe Malaysian Insider, Friday (05/24/2013).

Meanwhile, according to a senior opposition politician Datuk Teng Chang Khim, the arrest was intended to please the hardline Umno leaders including Najib also to consolidate the position following the poor performance of Umno and Barisan Nasional in Malaysia election.

"He was in a chaotic state. Scared him. Was how he showed the Umno top brass that he could decisively," said Teng Chang Khim.
