Iran Rejects Presidential Candidates are Related to U.S


In addition to prohibiting women to run for the President of Iran, Iran's Guardian Council also provides other criteria before the Iranian presidential election in June. Guardian Council rejected candidates with ties to the United States (U.S.). 


Iran's Guardian Council Secretary Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said, some candidates thought that international sanctions against Iran will be revoked if the State Paramullah reopen relations with the U.S.. 

"Obviously we have to laugh at this comment. If there is someone who has a view like that, is it possible we could approve his nomination," Jannati said, as quoted by NDTV, Saturday (05/18/2013). 

United States has no diplomatic relations with Iran since 1979. Since then, there has never been a high-ranking Iranian relations with the U.S. suggest improvements. 

But former Iranian president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani suggested a better relationship can be built between the U.S. and Iran. Although Rafsanjani did not suggest the improvement of relations between the two countries. 

Previously , Iran's Guardian Council member said, according to the Constitution prohibited women to participate in politics of Iran. This threw the plan approximately 30 women who register as candidate for President of Iran.

The Steering Committee is filled by Iranian clerics, has been accused organize presidential candidate under the provisions of Islam. Party election judge supervisor is no ambiguity of the Constitution of Iran on women's participation in the Iranian presidential election. 

But the announcement made by Mohammad Yazdi is end the debate that has been going on. "The Constitution does not allow women to run in the presidential elections and the presence of a woman in the polls," Yazdi said, as quoted by Mehr, Saturday (05/18/2013). 

"Women are only allowed to vote and the parliament can be served as a member of parliament," he added. 

The race to the seat of the President of Iran is met with a surprise when former President Akbar Rafsanjani and Hashenmi negotiator Saeed Jalili, Iran's nuclear program, officially signed up for the Iranian presidential election. 

As President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are not allowed to vote June 14, because it has undergone two terms as President of Iran. But Ahmadinejad supports Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei is considered a controversial figure.
